What’s New Wednesday #29: Looking to the Future

Hello, Darklings! It’s time for another installment of What’s New Wednesday, and this week I’m all about looking to the future. Now, if this is your first visit here, the What’s New Wednesday posts usually revolve around what’s happening in my life this week. 🙂 Sometimes, I also get into my current obsessions on these posts, just because …

So, let’s stop dawdling and get into the nitty-gritty,  yeah?

TV/Film/Youtube

This week, I’m all about binge-watching the second season of N0S4A2, which I am currently obsessed with! The first season left me a little disappointed, mostly because I couldn’t understand why the creators decided to veer off the book, but I get it now. I LOVE it now. The backstory of Charlie Manx is on point and I’m very interested to see where the creators are going.

Coming to Netflix today is The Devil all the Time, which looked pretty cool judging by the trailer. The film stars Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Bill Skarsgard, so my inner-teen is kind of intrigued to see them all on screen together. What can I say? I love me some pretty boys with a dark side. 😉

Okay, okay, so usually I don’t really get obsessive with Youtube channels, but I found Bailey Sarian the other day and fell in love with her Murder, Mystery & Makeup segment. You guys should know by now that I love me some true crime … I also do enjoy makeup (a lot), so this ticks all my happy boxes. Click here and enjoy some of the AWESOME!

Books

I’ve actually read more books last week than I intended, which is (obviously) good. LOL! But this week is a bit busy, so I only have two picks I’m going to delve into. The first one is The Girl in the Video by Michael David Wilson to get my psychological horror fix. This book is described as: The Girl in the Video is The Ring meets Fatal Attraction for the iPhone generation. *gets chills … in a good way*

Then, I’m going to spend some time with Scott Carson‘s The Chill, because who doesn’t like stories about drowned villages and supernatural forces hellbent on destroying stuff? I can’t wait. Eeeep!

Personal Writing Stuff

Website

So, last week I told y’all that I’m fixing up my website a wee bit with some new extras and whatnot? Well, if you haven’t gone in search of all the new goodies I have added yet, no worries. I’ve got you covered. 😉 First off, I added a Read-Alikes page for everyone who’s getting some withdrawal symptoms from The Night Weaver and as a bonus, I also added comparative titles for The Bone Carver! I’ll keep updating the page as time goes on with whatever new books I release or if I read something that could help you get your fix.

Another recent extra I added was the Cover Evolution of The Night Weaver, which is kind of self-explanatory. It’s a bit of a behind-the-scenes look at how the cover has transformed from 2018 until now.

I’m still working on getting new stuff up and there’s a secret project I’m planning specifically for the site. Muhahaha!

The Bone Carver

I have some more Fan L❤️VE to share with you guys!

Now, there’s something else I’ve tried to add, but I couldn’t, so check that one out here. Thank you @Oasisgrlmd for the pretty-pretty. It’s gorgeous!

Thank you to everyone taking such beautiful photos of The Bone Carver. Your creativity keeps blowing my mind!

Pre-Order

What's New Wednesday #29: Looking to the Future 6For a small New England town, Shadow Grove has an uncanny ability to attract the worst kind of trouble. Not that the residents are too concerned about the various horrors living among them.

As the leaves change color and the weather grows colder, a foul presence is making itself known by leaving peculiar gifts for the students of Ridge Crest High. At first the presents seem harmless—and a rash of accidents seem coincidental—but when seniors Rachel Cleary and her Scottish cousin, Dougal Mackay, find a boneless body in the boiler room, things take an ominous turn.

Something vicious is on the loose in Shadow Grove, and not knowing whether Orion Nebulius will ever return, Rachel has very little hope of anyone making it out alive.

PRE-ORDER NOW!

Looking to the Future

With The Bone Carver’s release coming up fast, I’m preparing for interviews and all the marketing stuff that usually goes along with new book releases, so I’ll try to keep everyone updated with cool new stuff off-site on the What’s New Wednesday segments. We’re talking teasers, excerpts, and the like. It’s gonna be good. Promise!

Then, probably by the end of the year or thereabouts, we’ll get into more Dark Country promo stuff. I’m sure a LOT of you are curious about what the cover looks like by now … It’s super freaking pretty. I’m 100% in love with it (and if that’s not enough to get you interested, I’ve already seen the second book’s cover. EEEP!

Looking to the future … well, that also includes that on Monday we’re going knife forging again. I’ve got to hammer out some frustrations (and finish up my knife, of course) LOL! 🔪 🔪 Soon thereafter, it’s birthday time for yours truly! I’m keeping what we have planned for that a secret for now, but it’s going to be lovely. I just know it.

And that’s it for this week’s What’s New Wednesday.

Be good, stay safe, and see you again next week. 🙂

Love ya,

Monique
