What’s New Wednesday #3: Nostalgia

This What’s New Wednesday is more nostalgic than “new” per se. First off, on Monday it was my two year wedding anniversary, so that may have had some influence on my week. More than that, though, while I’ve been packing/unpacking, I’ve rediscovered stuff that I’ve long since forgotten I own and love. So, nostalgia is this week’s theme, methinks… Or maybe not.

Maybe it’s “winter week” instead, because I do feel a bite in the air. Either way, let’s start off this week with a glimpse at my wedding album. 🙂

Wedding Album

What's New Wednesday #3: Nostalgia 1

Getting married to my best friend, who just so happens to be my soul mate, still ranks at the top of my “Most Wonderful Days EVER”. Thank you, babe, for two eventful years of marital adventure (and almost fifteen years of our wild roller coaster life together). I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I love you so freaking much!

TV Shows

New seasons of my favorite shows have started (or is starting soon) and I’m quite excited to delve back into my old-ish obsessions. Whoohoo! Seriously, if you haven’t watched these shows yet, you should. They are hella good!

Books

What's New Wednesday #3: Nostalgia 5

I’m working on a winter reading list, which I’ll share in a separate blog post later this week. 🙂 Hopefully, I can somehow work through them before spring comes. For now, I will say that there are a lot of series’ on it, and that it stretches across quite a few genres. So, keep an eye out for that post, folks!

Random Obsessions

Kartopu Snowball

What's New Wednesday #3: Nostalgia 6

I know not a lot of my readers are into knitting and crochet, but I couldn’t go on without gushing about the Kartopu Snowball yarn range. Recently, I discovered this range at one of my usual yarn haunts, found a few colors on special, and they are so easy to work with… My hands simply adore Kartopu now. I’ve already finished a dark blue sweater for my husband (OMG it’s so freaking squishy and warm!), which you can see on my Instagram, and I’m now working on a sweater for myself in this orange color on the right (again, it’s so squishy and luxurious). Next, I’m planning a mustard yellow sweater for myself, too. Will show progress on my Instagram feed, if you’re interested in seeing what the heck I’m up to in my spare time. SPOILER ALERT: I’m mostly into knitting and crochet. 🙂

Bold Colors

What's New Wednesday #3: Nostalgia 7

Usually, I’m more of a pastel pink girl, but lately I’ve fallen in love with bold colors that I wouldn’t ordinarily wear. Orange (although it’s my favorite color) is not a color I gravitate towards when it comes to clothes, and yellow doesn’t suit my skin tone, but lately I want to see more bold colors in my wardrobe. I have no idea why. The new apartment’s decor isn’t going to get too many popping colors introduced into it, though, just my wardrobe… I don’t know if it’s going to be very Monique or not, we’ll have to see, but I am excited to find some pieces to compliment what’s currently in between all the pastel pinks and floral pieces.

Winter DIY Beauty Hacks

What's New Wednesday #3: Nostalgia 8Seeing as I live in a region where we have dry winters, my skin usually don’t do well in the cold weather. So, I’m taking some preventive measures to keep my skin feeling soft and crack-free. If you have the same issues as I do with your skin in winter, but you don’t want to give out too much money, I would totally advise you to check out Arsenic & Old Place’s DIY Winter Skin Treats post.

Alternatively, head on over to Lifestyle Australia’s 3 DIY Face Masks for Winter post to see what hydrating face tips they have for you.

And that’s it for what I’m obsessed with this week. Have a super sexy Wednesday, folks!
