With only 6 days left until release day, I thought I’d give you guys another glimpse into The Bone Carver. Last time, I got all chatty about what inspired me while I crafted my villain in this book. This time, though, I’m giving some sneaky peeks into the story with some of my favorite quotes from the book. I also want to show off the gorgeous, super Halloween-y formatting.
So, please sit back, and enjoy the ride with another glimpse into The Bone Carver. 😉
Glimpse into The Bone Carver
Quotes
Here are just a few selected quotes from The Bone Carver …
Formatting
Look, I know some people don’t really care too much about formatting, but I LOVE a pretty interior in a book. When I saw The Bone Carver’s interior, I freaked out. It’s so PRETTY!
Just look at those pretty bones. They’re absolutely beautiful, don’t you think? *giggles* I love ’em. Also, they fit in perfectly with the formatting from The Night Weaver, which really captures the soul of the book, too.
Some Early Reviews
As the release date draws nearer, some of the early readers have started to publish their thoughts on The Bone Carver, and I never could have imagined how positive they’d be. You see, every author stresses whenever a new book comes out, and when it’s a sequel of a well-received book, the stressing gets amplified exponentially. The reason for this is because it is generally assumed a sequel can’t be better than the first book. Well, I’ve been stressing. Yes, I’m excited, but I’m also very nervous. Luckily, it seems I may have hit the right marks this time around. 🙂
Check it out:
"This book will make a great starting point for teenagers who haven’t yet found cult classics such as The Exorcist and A Nightmare on Elm Street."
“From violent threats and death to unholy creatures, readers who enjoy dark fantasy are in for a treat.”
"...it is hauntingly beautiful, mysterious, and non-stop suspense."
The Bone Carver
For a small New England town, Shadow Grove has an uncanny ability to attract the worst kind of trouble. Not that the residents are too concerned about the various horrors living among them.
As the leaves change color and the weather grows colder, a foul presence is making itself known by leaving peculiar gifts for the students of Ridge Crest High. At first the presents seem harmless—and a rash of accidents seem coincidental—but when seniors Rachel Cleary and her Scottish cousin, Dougal Mackay, find a boneless body in the boiler room, things take an ominous turn.
Something vicious is on the loose in Shadow Grove, and not knowing whether Orion Nebulius will ever return, Rachel has very little hope of anyone making it out alive.
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into The Bone Carver as much as I did. It’s always exciting to reach this part of a book’s journey, because I get to talk about things I’d normally not have a chance to chat about otherwise. It’s a fun ride. Chaotic and nerve-wracking, of course, but fun as well.
This won’t be the last post about The Bone Carver and the intricate process it went through during the developmental stages, though. I have some things planned that will be super informative to readers (and fun, don’t worry), so keep checking back regularly so you won’t miss anything. 🙂
Lastly, if you’re bored and you haven’t browsed through the Extras on The Night Weaver Series page, head on over there. I’ve added some new things recently and there’s also some fan photos you might enjoy. I try my best to update the Extras regularly, but sometimes I have to wait for inspiration to strike. Nevertheless, do check in on it from time to time if you want to see some cool stuff that’s all about The Night Weaver Series.
Until next time,
Monique
