It’s time for another What’s New Wednesday, but first … The Bone Carver is here! After months and months of waiting, he’s FINALLY been unleashed on the world … I sincerely hope you’re ready for the chaos he’s about to inflict, because he’s more than ready to make you suffer. 😨 Sounds ominous, right? Well, what can I say? This monster is just vicious and mean (and weirdly creative in the ways he tortures his victims). Worst of all: This creep’s somehow been living in my imagination for a couple of years now, scratching his way to the surface of my thoughts, intruding on my everyday life, wanting nothing more than to terrify you.
Is it bad that I’m relieved not to carry the burden of his constant attentions by myself anymore? 🤣 Well, luckily it’s October, and most folks are in the mood for some spooky stuff, which makes it a PERFECT read for 2020. (I’m biased and excited, so … pardon the self-pimping LOL!)
TOP TIP: Read closely if you want to find out what the title is for the third book in The Night Weaver Series. 😉
While we’re on the subject, though, I have some great stuff to get ya’ll in the mood for The Bone Carver’s release.

The Night Weaver Trailer
I got a trailer, guys! It’s a 2-in-1 trailer for both The Night Weaver and The Bone Carver, and I love it. Check it out below:
More Fan L❤️VE
I recently did some admin on my social media pages and found some more gorgeous, previously overlooked, photos of The Night Weaver while I was searching for some fan images of The Bone Carver. So, I thought today would be a good day to show off EVERYTHING I found hidden on the interwebz.
Thank you so much to everyone who’s taken the time to capture such beautiful photos with my books. You guys have no idea how much I appreciate it. ❤️
WOWZA!
I woke up this morning to find a lovely little surprise on Booktrib … You follow Booktrib’s posts, right? They always have all kinds of bookish fun stuff to read, so if you don’t, you totally should. Anywho, so what I saw was a post called, “Into the Woods: 10 Chilling Tales about what’s Lurking in the Shadows“, which obviously caught my attention. EEEP! I’m not going to give anything away, but let’s just say The Night Weaver was mentioned alongside some great authors’ works. Seriously, I am completely bowled over.
The Bone Carver
For a small New England town, Shadow Grove has an uncanny ability to attract the worst kind of trouble. Not that the residents are too concerned about the various horrors living among them.
As the leaves change color and the weather grows colder, a foul presence is making itself known by leaving peculiar gifts for the students of Ridge Crest High. At first the presents seem harmless—and a rash of accidents seem coincidental—but when seniors Rachel Cleary and her Scottish cousin, Dougal Mackay, find a boneless body in the boiler room, things take an ominous turn.
Something vicious is on the loose in Shadow Grove, and not knowing whether Orion Nebulius will ever return, Rachel has very little hope of anyone making it out alive.
Horror Obsessions
TV/Film
I’ve been all over the place in regards to what I’m in the mood to watch. Most of my leisure viewing is firmly fixed in the horror genre, but there’s a whole lot of sub-genre hopping happening lately. First up, the second volume of Unsolved Mysteries is out and obviously I’m obsessed. I mean, who doesn’t like a good unsolved mystery?
Then, we have Cooties on our ‘to-watch’ list this week, which appears to be a little horror-comedy. Now, I remember hearing about it when the film first came out and subsequently forgot about the film’s existence until Youtube’s algorithm reminded me a while back. So, we decided there’s no time like the present to watch a movie about creepy, infected kids trying (and I suppose succeeding) to kill people. 🙂
Next, we have some gothic horror on the list with Crimson Peak, which I can’t recall ever watching. I mean, I think I would’ve remembered watching it, seeing as Tom Hiddleston stars in the flick, but I just can’t be sure at this point. Anyway, I’m in the mood for some ghosties, so why not give it a go this Halloween season?
The newest title on this list is The Other Lamb, which looks like a folk horror of sorts. Well, they call it a cult horror, but I’m getting some weirdo Midsommar vibes from the cinematography in the trailer. We’ll have to see. Anywho, this one just looks excellent in general, so I’m hoping it lives up to my expectations.
Books
My current read is none other than I’ll be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara, which revolves around the hunt for the Golden State Killer. This is a true crime book that got a limited documentary series on HBO (which I haven’t watched yet), but I hear both versions are excellent. I wanted to read the book before I got into the show, not to compare, but just to make sure I have all my facts straight.
Podcasts
There’s not much new on the podcast front, unfortunately, but Spotify did recommend And That’s Why We Drink for me, and it looks hella fun. I haven’t started listening just yet, but I have my eye on a specific episode that I want to delve into this afternoon while I’m making dinner.
Have you listened to this one yet? Did you like it?
And that’s it for this week’s What’s New Wednesday.
There’s another post coming out on Friday related to The Bone Carver, so do check back.
Oh, and before I go, I just want to thank everyone who made The Bone Carver’s release so extraordinary yesterday. You guys really made my day special when I was kind of incapacitated due to heat exhaustion and dehydration. Thank you so, so, SOOOO much. ❤️ I truly appreciate it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to work on The Sin Eater (The Night Weaver #3). 😉
Have a great day,
Monique
